FAQ

What is the easiest herb to grow?

Mint, chives, and rosemary are nearly indestructible. Mint grows so aggressively it should always be contained. Chives come back year after year with zero effort. Rosemary thrives on neglect in well-drained soil.

Can I grow herbs indoors?

Yes - most herbs need a south-facing window with 6+ hours of direct sunlight, or a grow light. Basil, mint, chives, parsley, and rosemary do well indoors. Avoid overwatering - most herbs prefer to dry slightly between waterings.

Are herbs safe as medicine?

Many herbs have demonstrated medicinal properties in clinical studies, but natural does not mean safe. St Johns Wort has serious drug interactions. Some herbs are dangerous during pregnancy. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before using herbs medicinally.

What is the most expensive herb?

Saffron is the most expensive spice at $5,000-10,000 per pound, followed by vanilla. Among fresh herbs, edible flowers and specialty micro-herbs can be very expensive. Wild ginseng roots sell for $500-1,000 per pound.
