About Ashwagandha

One of the most important herbs in Ayurvedic medicine, used for 3,000+ years. Its name means smell of a horse in Sanskrit, referring to both its smell and the belief it gives the strength of a horse. Clinical studies show it can reduce cortisol (stress hormone) by up to 30%. It is classified as an adaptogen and Rasayana (rejuvenator) in Ayurveda. It may increase testosterone and sperm quality in men. It contains withanolides, unique steroidal compounds. It is one of the fastest-growing supplement categories in the US. The roots are the primary medicinal part. It has been called Indian ginseng.
