About Catnip

Contains nepetalactone, which triggers rolling, rubbing, and euphoria in many cats. The response is inherited, and a substantial minority of cats show little or no reaction. Kittens usually do not respond until they are several months old. Studies have found nepetalactone to be an effective mosquito repellent. It was traditionally brewed as a calming tea for people. A hardy member of the mint family that spreads readily.
