It contains thujone, which can be toxic in large amounts. It is considered invasive in many regions. It was traditionally used to repel moths. It grows 1-2 meters tall. The leaves are aromatic and bitter. It has been used in dream pillows for inducing vivid dreams. Japanese use it in mochi rice cakes (yomogi).
