About Yarrow

Named after Achilles, who allegedly used it to treat soldiers wounds at Troy. It was found in a 60,000-year-old Neanderthal burial site in Iraq, one of the oldest known medicinal plant uses. It contains over 120 active compounds. It stops bleeding effectively - Native Americans called it soldiers woundwort. It was used in place of hops in beer before the widespread adoption of hops. It attracts beneficial insects. It is drought-tolerant and spreads aggressively. The leaves can be used as a hop substitute in beer brewing. It has feathery foliage and flat clusters of tiny flowers. It was once used for divination in the I Ching.
